Approach
General:
As a
licensed family practice doctor I enjoy seeing a diverse
population of both men and women from children to teens,
adults, and elders. I can act as your primary care
physician or as a consultant when needed. I specialize in
traditional natural medicine with a firm foot in
contemporary science and training. I listen fully to
patients, perform thorough physical exam and back those up
with tests if/when necessary. My ultimate goal is to help
you make informed decisions about you and your family’s
health.
It is important to give you a fish AND teach you how to
fish. I would like all my patients to learn and implement
some basics to prevent imbalance and promote health, and
some easy home treatments for common ailments. I believe
that if I can help a person to improve their diet, physical
activity, sleep, and connection to their community and the
world around them, often their health will be brought into
balance. It is also important that patients know ‘what is
going on’. I will spend time explaining tests, exams,
rationale and choices so YOU are in charge of your health.
Treatments:
Because
we are all unique, treatments will reflect this and be
specific to you. I will start simply and with least force
interventions whenever possible. I tend to use a
combination of:
- Nutrition and lifestyle analysis and recommendations
- Homeopathy
- Herbal medicine
- Specific targeted nutrients
- IV nutrients
- Problem-focused counseling
- Physical medicine techniques – massage, stretching, and manipulation
- Bioidentical hormones
- Prescription medication when necessary
